I had to say goodbye to Rich Nielsen as Vice President of the SFKF. I’m not going to use this post to badmouth anyone, but the VP position is now officially closed. I will be running things, and I would ignore anything Rich has said, to be honest. All are welcome in the SFKF, worldwide. It is my pleasure to teach people Snake Fist Karate and help people to learn one of the strongest martial arts ever created.

All knowledge is power, but power is only worth having if put to good use. Many people assume positions of high power, but they are only fooling themselves. Those who claim to be experts in Snake Fist Karate or any martial art, and don’t train, are only fooling themselves. Certificates and Karate belts don’t shield anyone from harm.
In the Snake Fist Karate Federation, how long it takes anyone to learn Karate is up to them. Learn Karate without pressure, or time limits. We test via several methods. You can move up in rank when you feel you have earned the grade: this is the honour system- so only you know if you have earned the rank. I can also video test any students for FREE. I don’t believe in ripping people off, so gradings are FREE! Another option is to write down what you have done, how you graded yourself and even time the grading: again, I can tell BS from hard work, so written testing is an option. Again, as with the honour system, you are only fooling yourself if you don’t train and claim any belt in Karate.
I am Grand Master Daw, the only student in Snake Fist Karate who saw potential in such a great style, and rescued it from obscurity. Others may claim high rank in Snake Fist, but they certainly haven’t done anything with their skills. Learn from the man who wrote the books on the style, created the seminar videos, lesson program and the entire Federation- for a hobby!
I enable people to achieve in my martial arts clubs, and the SFKF is no exception. Those who join and want something silly like a 10th Dan immediately are missing the point. I teach skills that help people to get active, have fun and learn to defend themselves. Any one of my students can learn from beginner, right the way up to 7th Dan, if they wish, with my help.
I will give an example of two potential types of SFKF students. One student has lots of money, and is just after a high Dan rank: he has little intention of learning Karate, so he joins and buys all he needs to become a 7th Dan. The student is all about the rank and no training. Another student buys a beginner to 3rd Dan course, and trains with all his might, three times a week at home, when he can.
Now, let’s imagine both students- the hard-trainer and the 7th Dan who never trained, got into a little scuffle on the streets. It’s likely that the 3rd Dan will whoop practically anyone who ever lived, whereas the 7th Dan who never trained, is guaranteed an ass-kicking. My point is, no matter who you are or where you come from, if you get into a fight anywhere, and it’s time to defend yourself, only YOU know if you can handle yourself or not. Nobody is invincible, but the students who train hard in Snake Fist Karate have a great chance of winning most one on one encounters.
