Yes, Snake Fist Karate is the nearest to Cobra Kai: it comes from sunny California, and has been around for about 30 years now. I know most people are on the Miyagi side of things, but The Karate Kid is obviously all fiction. Did you know that in the Karate Kid films, NONE of the main actors knew any martial arts in real life? That blew me away, as I thought they were all black belts or something before they did those movies, but that's not true.
Sensei Brett Ernest designed the Snake Fist Karate style decades ago. I am not the Grand Master of Snake Fist Karate, but I am the Grand Master of the SFKF. I am one of, if not the only person to have permission to expand on Snake Fist Karate.
The Snake Fist Karate Federation was born in 2020. Snake Fist is one of my favourite styles; simple and powerful. I decided to create the SFKF in order to expand on the original course by Sensei Ernest. With the SFKF, you don't have to be a martial artist to join. Some people just want to be affiliated with a martial arts club, and that's fine.
The Snake Fist Karate video program is perfect for beginners and seasoned Snake Fist students. I have also created seminar courses years before the SFKF: these are included in the video program. No techniques are left unexplained in the SFKF video program: it's easy to learn and benefit from. The 2nd Snake Fist Karate seminar is almost a style in itself.

Like most martial artists, if we were in this game for the money, we wouldn't bother. We do martial arts for the exercise, learning self-defense and to generally improve our lives. Martial arts are for life-enhancement, not ways of living. SFKF is deliberately cheap, so most people have the chance to join and learn. I don't believe that martial arts training should only be for the rich.

Many people obsess over what belt someone has. if you get attacked in the street, do your attackers ask if you've ever done martial arts, before they mug you? At the end of the day, any teacher can only teach you so much knowledge: How you choose to use the knowledge you have learned is up to you. No matter the belt rank, when you're attacked, you either know your stuff or you don't.
We are not against anyone in the SFKF. We don't brainwash people into believing that we are better than everyone else. We are simply normal people who enjoy martial arts for their positive benefits. Anyone can join us. Maybe I'll see you soon, as our latest student?
