Grand Master. Yes- But Still Just a Person.

People in martial arts are quick to slate each other and believe themselves to be the best. There is nothing wrong with thinking your style is the best. It's when you start trying to prove to the world that you're better than everyone else, that you get into trouble.

I had a few scuffles here and there in my time, thankfully, nothing serious. To be honest, when you do martial arts for a main hobby, you're lucky if you see the outside world.

I designed the SFKF because I love Snake Fist Karate and wanted to make the style as good as it could be. It is great to have people around the world learning from my club. Naturally, like all martial arts teachers, I would love about 1 million more students, but at the same time, I am very happy with what I have accomplished.

It's when people posing as martial artists spout their crap online and become too preachy, that they lose credibility. With the advent of social media, it can be very easy to get sucked into posting and commenting on all kinds of trivial crap. I post on a blog now and again, but in reality, I'm more about the training. People who bicker and moan like kids online, are not worth bothering with- they are trolls, not martial artists.

Yes, I am the Grand Master of the SFKF, the boss, the number 1 . It's nowhere near as glamorous as you think being a Grand Master. People think I'm worth a fortune and like a celebrity when they hear Grand Master- nowhere near. I am just a simple person who does martial arts and teaches with video courses. Many a Master of martial arts would tell you, it's a lot of hassle for a bit of Karate: but we do this because we are doing it anyway.

I think that so many martial arts 'experts' are full of themselves, but they NEVER train. I maintain that anyone who doesn't train at least twice a week, most weeks, is not worth listening to, in any martial arts style; they're simply not relevant. Why bother preaching on social media, when you don't train? It baffles me. It strikes me that if these online experts trained for half of the time they spent moaning like bitches, they would almost be half as good as they think they are.

Most of the men I met in my life would probably die in my shoes, as the ego takes over. I'm the Grand Master! Don't you know who I am? This kind of thinking leads to severe delusions of grandeur. Bear in mind that any belt or certificate is just proof you belong to something, and you have trained somewhere. It's very easy to get full of your self and party too hard. Refuse to let your ego take over anything. We can always be better- punch harder, kick faster and more.

Ignore what the next man is doing or thinks, and focus on your own training. it doesn't matter what anybody says- you KNOW if you are good, don't you? It's common for men to think they're tough, but as I said before- unless you train at least twice a week- you and your opinions on martial arts are NOT relevant. Even some people that used to teach me still think they're hot stuff- they would probably get knocked out by green belts if truth be told. The only people I respect from my martial arts history, are those actively training still.

In the SFKF, I allow martial arts nerds to join and belong- but the real members are actively training.

One big thing to do as a martial artist is to look at your weaknesses. As humans, it's too easy to drift through life and think everything is wonderful when it isn't. Step outside yourself and try and make improvements now and again. Please don't be too hard on yourself- but try and make little positive changes here and there. Change because YOU want to- not because some crappy magazine says so.

One of my biggest weaknesses is I rarely ask anyone for anything. I have had great feedback from the SFKF members, and it's nice to have a great club. But we need more members! If anyone reading this can share the post and invite friends etc that would be great. When you give and give, it's hard to take sometimes. If you like Karate, SFKF is cheap, and we welcome everyone worldwide. The more I make, the more I can give back, in the way of deals and more courses.

People that know me know that I'm easy to get on with. SFKF is cheap, it's easy to learn with, and you can even open a Dojo if you like. Most martial arts clubs look down their nose at you from the time you join to when you have your last lesson- not in the SFKF.

Below is a video ad I made for everyone to watch and share. Enjoy.

If you are reading this and are thinking about joining the SFKF- DO IT!! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. And for the money it costs to join us, you get much more than any other club will give you. Why? Because we KNOW we are amongst the best on the planet, that's why we are practically giving our knowledge away. We could charge triple the prices we have set, but we never will. Everyone should have the chance to learn martial arts if they wish, and with the SFKF, everyone does.

Have a great day.
